At its core, ACT embodies a new collective commitment between the European Commission and UN Women to enhance global advocacy on ending violence against women under the Action Coalition on Gender-Based Violence. The programme achieves this through direct investments in feminist women's rights organizations, strengthening their institutional capacities, resilience, coalition building, networking, and leadership at both global and regional levels. Through direct investments in feminist movements, strengthening intersectional alliances, and coordinating a shared advocacy agenda, ACT amplifies the coordination and push for justice across Stakeholder groups including women’s rights organisations, coalitions, networks and movements.
Women Aid Collective (WACOL), through its coalition expression of the West and Central Africa Women Rights Coalition (WAWORC), is implementing the UNWomen West and Central Africa Office (WCARO) A.C.T Program under the project title - Her Voice: Investigating the Connection Between Climate Change, Digitalization, and Violence Against Women (VAW) in West and Central Africa region (WCAR). It covers the 4 focal countries of Cameroon, Ghana, Togo and Nigeria.
